Tupaia - A Short Review Of
Tupaia, a Polynesian who travelled with Captain Cook, was a navigator who used the stars for guidance. Tupaia was fluent in many Pasifika languages, and translated to Cook (in English), although he had to learn English onboard. Tupaia hasn't been credited for his involvement in Cook's voyage to Aotearoa because that occurred in a racist time. In short, Tupaia was (and is) an unsung hero due to timing.

Charlotte, this is a precise introduction to Tupaia. You have clearly given two two areas to build on if this was an introduction to an essay. His status as an unsung hero and the timing of his involvement to do with attitudes of the time. I look forward to viewing more of your work on Tupaia as you research his part in Aotearoa/New Zealand's history.
